an invitation into the art and history of the Côte d'Azur

On January 25 and 26, 2025, “Mon week-end aux Musées” returns for a second edition, opening the doors of some forty museums, with some sixty interactive workshops, fun activities and guided tours.

A weekend to dream, share and marvel at the diversity of the Côte d’Azur’s artistic and natural treasures.

Plunge into the world of the great painters

What a pleasure to be carried away by theart of the great masters!

At the Musée Picasso in Antibes, enter the artist’s imaginary world with the “Drôles de bêtes” family workshop , where young and old, brush in hand, have the opportunity to create together. For younger visitors, a magical treasure hunt entitled “Where did Ubu go?” turns the museum into a field of exploration.

As for the Musée Renoir in Cagnes-sur-Mer, it invites us to take part in a virtual immersion among the sparkling lights of the artist’s works.

And if you want to feel the vibrant energy of color, head for the Musée Fernand Léger in Biot, where sensory workshops on “Léger et les Nouveaux Réalismes” take you on a whirlwind of emotions!

A journey for artists from near and far

The Côte d’Azur has a special way of taking us on a journey through its museums, where we can discover different cultures and eras.

In Menton, at the Musée Jean Cocteau – Le Bastion, you can share a unique moment with contemporary artist Mme Keijnen, around her “Escale” exhibition.

In Nice, the Villa Arson welcomes us for fresh-faced guided tours, led by students who share their passionate views on the “Sweet days of discipline” exhibition .

Then there’ s the Centre de la Photographie in Mougins, where “Fashion Army” takes us on a dreamlike journey between fashion and art. And for families, interactive games around “Bayeté Ross Smith: Beyond Appearance” promise moments of complicity.

Finally, at the Musée Magnelli in Vallauris Golfe-Juan, we can slip into the shoes of detectives to solve the investigation “À la rescousse du Roi des Songes” (To the rescue of the King of Songs) . An inspiring journey awaits us, whether you’re an art enthusiast, a lover of local treasures or curious about nature.

This weekend promises to be a sensational immersion, ready to awaken all our emotions!

Moments to share with the whole family

Through the “Mon week-end aux Musées” event, Côte d’Azur museums are vying with each other to offer us memories to experience together.

For example, the Musée International de la Parfumerie in Grasse transports us back to the XVIIIᵉ century, with fascinating treasures such as Marie-Antoinette’s casket and period bottles.

At Monaco’s Oceanographic Museum, we literally plunge into the Mediterranean thanks to a virtual reality adventure on offer throughout the weekend.

For a fun-filled experience, why not try a life-size game of Goose at Fort Carré d’Antibes ? Laughter and smiles guaranteed!

As for the Trophée d’Auguste in La Turbie, the building takes us back in time with board games about Antiquity.

With its rich program of discoveries, “Mon week-end aux Musées” promises an unforgettable experience through art that will delight young and old alike.

Art meets history

Exploring the history of the Côte d’Azur while creating, that’s what we love about these fun and creative workshops.

At the Château de Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, colorful handicraft workshops give free rein to children’s imagination, while revealing the secrets of local history.

Head for Fort Carré in Antibes, where you can create a mosaic inspired by the breathtaking landscapes of the Côte d’Azur.

And at the Musée Micro-Folie in Cagnes-sur-Mer, children can color their own cathedral rose windows. A real feast of creativity that connects past and present!

Art for all, an unforgettable experience

My Weekend at the Museums” is a promise: to experience art differently, together, and to leave with stars in your eyes. Whether you’re fascinated by lectures like “The Color Black in Art History” at the Musée Grimaldi in Cagnes-sur-Mer, or by the “Africa and its Objects” exhibition at the Musée des Explorations du Monde in Cannes, there’s something to feed your curiosity.
