THE CLIFF ROADS OF NICE

The foothills of the Nice region close to the Italian border are full of unique and extraordinary sites for a picnic.

The Fort de la Revère (696 m above sea level) is one area perched above the village of Eze where you can disconnect, and enjoy its panoramic views as far as the eye can see (as far as Saint-Tropez on a clear day!).Picnicking in this exceptional place in the midst of the  stunning Grande Corniche departmental nature reserve and next the imposing fort built in 1870, will give you the impression that time has truly stopped.

For a complete change of mood, the Marinières beach in the world’s most beautiful harbour at Villefranche-sur-Mer, will turn your picnic moment into a picture postcard. The part sandy, part gravel beach is around 700 metres long and provides exceptional panoramic views.

If you prefer to sit under shady trees, the Mont-Boron park is the perfect place with its Aleppo pines and enchanting views. Perched on top of the hill, you’ll find Mont Alban fort, which dates back to the second half of the 19th century.

Previously given over to grazing, Mont Boron now has 11 km of marked paths in the heart of a 57-hectare Mediterranean forest.
