Paragliding on the Côte d’Azur in Roquebrune!

Enjoy your first paragliding experience in the exceptional setting of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. Let yourself be carried away by the wind and enjoy the silence: isn’t the Côte d’Azur amazing from above?

And suddenly, silence…

and a breathtaking view of the Côte d’Azur…

After the adrenaline of the take-off, calm settles in. Comfortably installed in the harness, I spent my flight chatting with Fred. He explained the basics of steering, gave me tips for detecting thermal currents and a complete guided tour of this part of the Côte d’Azur coast that I didn’t know much about! As the weather conditions were particularly mild that day, I even had the chance to take the controls of the paraglider for a few moments – really exhilarating!

Ready for the big jump?

It’s off in the very friendly minibus of the Imagin’Air paragliding school to cover the few kilometres separating us from Mont-Gros. After a short walk, we find ourselves at the top of this 686-metre high hill. A large green carpet extends over the southern slope. This is the take-off area for paragliders. Equipped with a helmet and harness I’m ready for the big jump! On the instructor’s order, I have to start running straight down the slope towards the emptiness below! The idea is certainly daunting, but in reality I only had to run two meters before I felt myself taking off.

A soft landing on one of Roquebrune’s magnificent beaches!

The paraglider lands on the magnificent Golfe Bleu beach. It lives up to its name: from up there, the water is an unbelievable turquoise colour! On the instructor’s signal, I have to straighten up and start running: don’t forget your trainers for this activity. In the end the landing was very smooth. Did this first flight make you want to go further? Fancy trying paragliding on the Côte d’Azur? The Imagin’Air paragliding school also offers introductory courses that will lead to your first solo flight! Over to you! The training courses and introductory flights take place in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin or La Colmiane depending on the period.

Who hasn’t dreamed of changing lives one day and earning a living doing something you love? Two years ago, I left my job as an engineer to become a photographer, videographer and digital nomad. Living in Nice, I fell under the spell of the Côte d’Azur. This region has made me what I am today: a fulfilled sportsperson that loves and respects nature. I share the beauty of this area and its many sporting possibilities and show you the things that made me fall in love with it!
