2. Outdoor activities for a sporting holiday

Are you looking for adventure in the great outdoors?

Roubion is the place to be. For the more adventurous, head for the Canyon du Moulin, an experience reserved for experts, with technical abseils and a 60-metre waterfall under a natural arch. If you prefer a more leisurely experience, Roubion-les-Buisses also has a mountain bike area, with nine trails served by chairlifts, from green to black. Electrically-assisted mountain bikes allow everyone, from beginners to experienced sportsmen and women, to enjoy the mountains at their own pace. As for the Bike Park de Roubion, it will be a happy place at weekends, bank holidays and bank holidays until the beginning of October. And for those who like to climb, the climbing site at the Grotte de la Balma or the Via Ferrata “Balma negra” await you a stone’s throw from the village, in a stunning setting. Hiking trails are also within easy reach, including the Circuit des Hameaux, Pin Pourri, Boucle de Vignols and Mont Gravière. Between waymarked trails, moderate gradients or more sporty routes, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in this unspoilt corner of the mountains!

New for 2025: Roubion is innovating with virtual paragliding, a striking immersive experience that lets you fly over the Alpine valleys without leaving the village – thrills guaranteed! 3. Roubion en famille: nature activities for young and old

At Roubion, family holidays take on a whole new flavour.

The adventure begins at La Petite Ferme, where children get to know the goats and donkeys, in a peaceful mountain setting. A natural and educational interlude, led by a passionate owner. For young climbing enthusiasts, there are around thirty specially adapted climbing routes for them to try out in complete safety, with friendly supervision.

Fancy a leisurely stroll? The Circuit des Hameaux offers two hours of gentle walking between ancient streets, the chapel of Saint-Sébastien and natural springs. Mountain bikers can also go at their own pace, thanks to ten free circuits starting from different points in the commune. 4. Rando Bistrot in Roubion: a gourmet experience in the mountains

If Roubion had a recipe, it would be one of simple happiness: walk, meet and enjoy!

From May to September, the Rando Bistrot take you on a discovery of pastoralism – this tradition of life in the mountains where man accompanies his herds between mountain pastures and valleys – but also of local produce and exceptional landscapes.

Guided by a guide, walkers cross the mountain pastures, meet a shepherd, visit a farm or a cheese dairy, and finish their walk over a good meal in a local bistro.

An original and tasty way to discover the mountains in a different way, with your feet on the trails and your taste buds on alert!
