Cannes, open air shopping destination

When it comes to shopping, Cannes deserves the Palme d’Or! All the big names in luxury, young designers, and local institutions: the city of festivals has assembled an outstanding cast to dazzle fashionistas and shopping addicts from all over the world. Did you know? Cannes has the largest concentration of luxury shops per m² in France!

Cannes, the smallest…

… of the world’s major cities!

It only has 73,000 inhabitants, but is famous all over the world thanks to its Film Festival and legendary luxury hotels: Cannes is the smallest of the world’s major cities! A status that has earned it shops that are equal to those in the globe’s major capitals. A few streets, a few steps is all it takes to find just what you want, track down a young talented designer, dream in front of fashion, jewellery or watchmaking displays, or expand your wardrobe or vanity case at competitive prices by visiting the currently most popular brands: Zara, Séphora, Etam, Fnac, Galerie Lafayette…

For a shopping trip alongside the stars…

Head for La Croisette and Rue d’Antibes!

Two places stand out from all the others: La Croisette and rue d’Antibes in Cannes. The first is the preserve of the great luxury brands. Almost all of them are represented: Dior, Vuitton, Gucci, Hermes, Chanel, Prada and Chopard. In the midst of these glorious names are a few select local names, such as Kronometry, Cannes’ specialist in luxury watchmaking whose expertise is now spread across the world. At number 17, between Saint-Laurent and Van Cleef & Arpels, discover the Galérie du Gray d’Albion and its sixty or so boutiques.

Pure Cannes…

Some not to be missed addresses in Cannes!

With its wide pavements and plethora of shops, rue d’Antibes is very popular with international brands. Nevertheless, here again, some locals do very well, such as Louis Julian, the luxury watchmaker, founded in 1852, the Taizo perfumery always seeking out new fragrances, Atelier Jean-Luc Pelé, the kingdom foodies, Jacques Loup, the shoemaker to Cannes’ upper crust, Trabaud, accompanying elegant men and L’Eté Indien, a little box of tricks selling bags and jewellery by small designers.

Set sail for new horizons

100% shopping in Cannes!

However busy they may be, rue d’Antibes and La Croisette are certainly not the only places to shop in Cannes. Other streets compete with them. For example rue Hoche, running parallel to rue d’Antibes which, among other little nuggets, houses Tesi, a hat shop that first opened in 1884! Rue Meynardier, the longest pedestrian street in the city, also offers some high quality window shopping – it runs from the city centre as far as the first medieval alleyways in Le Suquet. Finally, linking La Croisette and rue d’Antibes, rue des États-Unis and rue du Commandant André rival each other for good shopping.
Happy shopping in Cannes!
