Auron, a village resort at the gateway to the Mercantour Park

Situated 1h30 from Nice, the ski resort of Auron is the largest ski area in the Alpes-Maritimes. At the gateway to the Mercantour, this village resort, nestling at an altitude of 1600 metres, has something for everyone: 135 km of marked runs combining both pleasure and technique. Downhill skiing, snowboarding, freeride, telemark… all forms of snow sports await you at Auron! You’ll discover a real haven of peace along the slopes, with 360° panoramic views and traditional barns punctuating the descents in the heart of the fir forests.

The resort opened on 6 December 2025.

At the heart of a ski area divided into 4 sectors, Auron welcomes winter sports enthusiasts of all levels and disciplines: 135 km of pistes including 3 green runs, 17 blue runs, 15 red runs and 8 black runs, snow gardens, family park… something for everyone in this Alpes-Maritimes resort!

The ski area is directly linked to the village of Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée by the Pinatelle cable car.

Awarded the Famille Plus label for its family-friendly facilities and the Flocon Vert label for its commitment to sustainable tourism, Auron is one of only two resorts in the Southern Alps, alongside Valberg, to have been awarded this prestigious environmental label.

Outdoor off-ski activities: get your adrenalin pumping!

Auron has been awarded the “Qualité Tourisme” and“Famille +” labels, making it an ideal ski resort for families.

Everything has been done to make it easier and more welcoming for families: 2 snow gardens for learning to ski with the Piou-Piou Club, a toboggan run, the Family-Park, free ski lifts, the new day nursery for children aged 6 months to 3 years and a host of activities and events for children during the holidays.

The village’s ice rink is the perfect place to relax, unwind and have fun. A warm après-ski atmosphere lulled by the entertainment and evenings on offer in the resort.

Put on your snowshoes from Auron resort!

Plateau d’Anelle

Level of difficulty: Easy. Duration: 3h30.
Distance: 6 km. Difference in altitude: 330 m.
Departure point: Car park in the village of Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage.
Starting from the village of Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage, a pleasant walk for beginner snowshoers. Enjoy this magical moment at the foot of the snow-covered Col d’Anelle. Local houses integrated into the landscape will punctuate your itinerary.

Gianto trail

Level of difficulty: Easy. Duration: 3 hours.
Distance: 6 km. Difference in altitude: 420 m.
Starting point: Car park in the village of Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage.
Discovery walk in the Sestriège woods at Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage. Follow the footprints of the alpine fauna along the forest tracks. This route will take you to the delightful Gianto shelter.

Le Puy d’Auron

Difficulty level: Easy. Duration: 3 hours.
Distance: 5 km. Difference in altitude: 310 m.
Departure point: Car park in the village of Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage.
Climb the Puy D’Auron mountain peak at an altitude of 1929 metres in the heart of the Mercantour National Park. Here’s a great walk to discover the adret of the Puy d’Auron. Admire the incredible panorama of the Auron ski area through the woods.
