The Via Souterrata de la Moulière, combining Via Ferrata and potholing, promises unique and safe sensations at a depth of 45 metres, with monkey bridges, footbridges and stalactite and stalagmite concretions.

Snowshoe enthusiasts will find plenty to do, with numerous hiking trails to explore the snow-covered surroundings. For an authentic experience, sleigh safaris are also available at the Monts d’Azur Bison Reserve, located close to the resort at Thorenc.

Assaliers summit

Distance: 6.5 kilometres Difference in altitude: 240 metres
Starting point: La Moulière

The Moulière plateau, south of Caille, offers panoramic views of the Côte d’Azur, the Lérins islands and the Var coast, at the foot of the Audibergue limestone massif. Once used for sheep farming and agriculture, the Assaliers summit takes its name from the use of flat stones for salt, essential for livestock. Observation points offer exceptional views as far as the Gulf of Saint-Tropez on a clear day.

The south of the village stretches out towards a vast plain that has played a central role in the commune’s agricultural and pastoral activities since time immemorial.

In winter, the landscape varies from the flatness of the vast plains of Caille to the forest of Scots pine and spruce of La Faourée.

Baou Roux summit

The summit of Baou Roux, with its opposing slopes, dominates the village of Caille thanks to its steep limestone cliffs. Its north face is enveloped by the Défens forest, offering a unique winter experience.

Grand Issart trail

Distance: 15 kilometres Difference in altitude: 550 metres

An ambitious hike for experienced hikers through the Ubac forest. The route offers a mix of shady north-facing slopes and sunny south-facing slopes. A good layer of snow is essential for the entire route.
