Valberg, an authentic village resort on the Côte d'Azur

Founded in 1936, Valberg is the oldest winter sports resort on the Côte d’Azur. Just 1h15 from Nice and perched at an altitude of 1700 metres, it offers 90 km of downhill ski runs in a sunny setting combining tradition, authenticity and modernity.

Valberg will open its doors on 13 December 2025.

A true 4-season destination, the resort has a wealth of activities synonymous with wide open spaces and the great outdoors. Spring, summer, autumn or winter, every time of year offers its share of activities and discoveries.

With a varied ski area offering 90 km of downhill runs, 25 km of cross-country skiing and almost 30 km of snowshoeing and walking trails on snow for all levels, Valberg is a resort that will suit everyone, whatever their desires and degree of daring!

  • Unbeatable rates!

Valberg has a unique offer among French ski resorts: here, children ski at 50% off the adult rate, all season long, up to and including the age of 15! And for the little ones, it’s free up to and including the age of 5!
Young people aged 16 and over, students and senior citizens aged 62 and over benefit from a 20% discount on ski passes.

  • The Valby snowshoe hikes

Valby, the friendly dragon and emblem of the resort, takes children on his favourite walks. Their challenge: set off on a hike in his footsteps, get your photo taken in the same place and in the same position as him, then return to the Tourist Office to show off your photo and receive a diploma!

  • Toboggan runs and the Family Park

Young and old, come and enjoy the joys of sliding on the toboggan runs of Valberg and Beuil-Les Launes. There are four secure, free-access areas for you to enjoy all winter long. A must-do activity!

Ski with the whole family in the Family Park, with runs to suit all abilities. On your descent, you’ll come across fun obstacles (balloons, bells, rails, etc.) to amuse young and old alike!

  • Pool area

Want to relax? The pool area has a heated pool and paddling pool. With water games and lifeguards, everything you need for a fun, safe swim!

Get your snowshoes on!

Level of difficulty: Easy. Duration: 1 hour.
Distance: 2.1 km. Difference in altitude: +100 m.
Starting point: Valberg Golf Club.

Are you new to snowshoeing? This trail is ideal for beginners. Just under 3km long, it takes you to the heights of the resort and gives you a panoramic view of the ski area.

Level of difficulty: Medium. Duration: 3 hours.
Distance: 7 km. Difference in altitude: +200 m.
Starting point: Chapelle Ste Anne aux Launes.

An affordable hike that takes in the vast expanses of the Plateau St-Jean, with two prominent peaks of the Haut-Cians in the background: Mont-Mounier (2817m) to the north and the summit of Les Cluots (2106m) to the south.

Difficulty level: medium/difficult. Duration: 4h30.
Distance: 9.6 km. Difference in altitude: +300 m.
Starting point: Valberg.

This is a longer walk with no technical difficulties, providing a superb day out. The trail is dotted with monumental land art works depicting the solar system. If you love stars and breathtaking views, this is the trail for you!
