Cool water rides!

While the more leisurely can enjoy a peaceful swim on the shores of the Mediterranean, the more adventurous, just a stone’s throw from the coast, are spoilt for choice. The Roya, Loup, Estéron… are just some of the rivers offering a wide range of activities for all levels! Dare to hike in the fresh air!

Aquatic hike: sensations in cascades

Starting from Breil-sur-Roya, Saint-Auban or Courmes, fill up on sensations during an aquatic hike. A hike between land and water where all you have to do is follow the guide by walking, sliding, jumping or even floating, through the clear waters and lush vegetation of the rivers of the Côte d’Azur.

Of course all the obstacles, slides and waterfalls, are avoidable, giving access to children aged 7 and over. For the more seasoned, canyoning offers the same programme, with a few extra difficulties and thrills. Some spots also offer speleology and via ferrata experiences!

Hydrospeed: a 100% French whitewater invention

Enter the rapids of the Roya, Estéron or du Loup on this large foam float.

Coached by a specialist guide, you’ll be equipped with a helmet, wetsuit, fins and foam float. Head forward, you will complete a course and perceive all the reliefs and movements of the currents that carry you like a fish, deep into the gorges.

Also called “river sledging”, hydrospeed allows you to progress through the valleys with a unique sliding sensation. You don’t need to go very fast to get your adrenaline fix, just play with the rapids!

Canoeing, kayaking and rafting: sports boating

Alone or in a group, climb aboard these unsinkable craft to tackle the fiercest eddies on the Côte d’Azur’s rivers!

As the rapids are classified into different intensities (from 1 to 6), you’ll need to row forwards and backwards to tackle the currents, avoid the rocks and cross the small ravines of water formed by the clues.

While kayaking is done individually, rafting can accommodate up to 8 people, with a guide on board of course.

Grab your oar and let’s go for a sensational descent!
