The Mediterranean by bike is an itinerary of around 7,500 km when fully developed. The route is mostly flat along the coast, making it accessible to cycle tourists and suitable for families on many sections. It combines cycle paths, greenways and minor roads. The route is attractive for the diversity of its landscapes (beaches, lagoons, vineyards, ports and historic villages) and its sunny climate for much of the year. It also offers a wealth of culture and gastronomy, allowing you to discover the Mediterranean basin at a gentle, accessible pace.

On the Côte d’Azur, the Mediterranean by bike takes on the appearance of a luminous journey between sea and hills. The route hugs the curves of the coastline, where the light reflects off the dazzling Mediterranean and accompanies every pedal stroke. On the horizon, the hills and red rocks of the Estérel massif contrast with the deep blue of the water.
The route passes through iconic towns such as Cannes, elegant and lively, then Antibes, surrounded by ramparts facing the sea. Further on, the arrival in Nice offers a suspended moment along the Promenade des Anglais, where palm trees and colourful facades line the shore. The route then continues towards Monaco, between cliffs and spectacular panoramas, before reaching the Italian border.
Here, the route alternates between seaside passages, lively urban crossings and more undulating stretches that reveal breathtaking vistas. Each ascent rewards you with a panoramic view of the infinite sea; each descent takes you back to the scent of salt and the mildness of the climate.
As well as its landscapes, the Côte d’Azur has an atmosphere all its own: Provençal markets, harbours where boats bob about, villages perched in the hinterland and Mediterranean flavours shared on terraces. By bike, this stretch becomes a sensory experience, a subtle balance between effort, contemplation and the art of living.
