The first suggestion – which won’t cost you a thing – is to go and admire the boats in the Old Port of Cannes, sitting on Plage du Midi, and watch them set sail.
The atmosphere along the quays is extraordinary: from the anticipation of warning signals to the start of the races and the boats’ return, there’s a constant spectacle.
Another option is to note that some companies organise boat trips during the Régates Royales, such asTrans Côte d’Azur. Watch the races from the water for a reasonable price ranging from €30 to €47.
A host of activities and entertainment, particularly in the evenings, take centre stage on land at the Cannes Royal Regatta Village, situated on Quai Laubeuf.
From the opening ceremony, tug-of-war, concerts and evening events, to the crews’ parade, prize-giving ceremonies and exhibitors’ stalls offering original products – including eyewear, clothing, handcrafted items, jewellery and Tahitian pearls… The festivities are always in full swing during the Cannes Royal Regattas.
