An Unmissable Encounter with Literature and Creativity

Following the success of its first three editions, the Colomars Book Fair returns on Sunday 22 November 2026, from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm, at Fort Casal! More than 75 local authors will be gathering to share their passion for literature, alongside several publishing houses, bookshops and organisations. With literary talks, book signings, conferences and activities for children, this latest edition promises a day full of discoveries and lively exchanges!

A literary fair featuring a wide range of genres

Novels, crime fiction, poetry, autobiographies, historical accounts, science fiction, fantasy, the supernatural, self-help, cookery, comics, manga and children’s literature… Every literary genre will be in the spotlight at the 2026 Colomars Book Fair!

Among the authors in attendance will be Sophie de Baere, winner of the 2022 Maison de la Presse Prize for *Les Ailes collées*; Susie Morgenstern, a leading figure in children’s literature, accompanied by her grandson Sacha Gauthier; and Pari Ravan, an international artist with a unique career path.

Several publishing houses, including Baie des Anges, Campanile, Encres de Siagne, Mémoires Millénaires and Ovadia, will also be taking part in this day dedicated to book lovers.

Launched in 2025, the ‘Prix de la Colombe Littéraire’ short story competition returns for its second edition, celebrating the creativity and talent of the authors taking part in the Fair.

A jury chaired by Martine Gasquet Daugreilh will award prizes to the three best short stories. The first-prize winner will receive a trophy, whilst the second- and third-prize winners will be awarded a certificate.

The awards ceremony will take place at 4.30 pm, in the presence of the Mayor, Isabelle Brès.

This year, young writers will also be in the spotlight with the ‘Prix des Petites Plumes’, a creative writing competition for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils at schools in Colomars. The three winners will receive certificates and children’s books at a ceremony to be held at 12.15 pm.

2026 programme

Literary cafés and talks to explore literature

In 2026, historian and speaker Richard Pogliano will host three literary cafés, inviting the public to discover inspiring life stories and engage in conversation with the authors.

In the morning:

10.15 am – ‘Through Women’s Eyes’: a discussion with Sophie de Baere, novelist and winner of the 2022 Maison de la Presse Prize for *Les Ailes collées*, which has been adapted for television.
11.15 am – “How to write between a grandson and a grandmother”: Susie Morgenstern and her grandson Sacha Gauthier will present their co-authored book, La retraite à 13 ans. An interactive session will give pupils the chance to ask the authors questions.

Afternoon:

2.30 pm – ‘The source of success is willpower: a multifaceted life’: painter and sculptor Pari Ravan will share her extraordinary journey – spanning medicine, psychiatry, aviation and the arts – centred on her memoir *L’Arborescence de la volonté*, compiled and edited by Virginia Sonia Barra.

The 2026 Colomars Book Fair also has some lovely surprises in store for families, with a children’s area open from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm.

In the dance hall, Colomars Library will be offering reading corners suitable for all ages, from nursery school to teenagers, organised by Claude Ghintran and his team.

In the dojo, creativity takes centre stage withthe Dreamaker workshop! Children will be able to see their own drawings come to life on a big screen during an immersive activity organised in groups of ten participants.

There’ll also be a friendly atmosphere with a reception hosted by the local council at around 12.30 pm, following the welcome speech by the Mayor, Isabelle Brès, and the presentation of the Prix des Petites Plumes.

All this will take place against a musical backdrop provided by Gérard Steyer.
