The 43rd European Heritage Days! A wide range of tours await you, offering a chance to explore Cogolin’s heritage. Registration begins Monday, August 24, directly at the Tourist Office. A detailed program is available at the Tourist Office.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 & SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 COURRIEU & FILS PIPE FACTORY (downtown) 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. & 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Closes at 5:00 PM on Sunday) Location: Courrieu & Fils Pipe Factory, 58 Av. Georges Clemenceau Only the shops and exhibitions will be open. Passed down from father to son since 1802, the Courrieu family crafts its pipes from the finest heather from the Massif des Maures, selected by the master pipemaker. Beauty, quality, and lightness are the golden rules of this craftsmanship. CHATEAU DE TREMOURIES - TOUR & TASTING OF WINE, BALSAMIC VINEGAR, AND OLIVE OIL (1 km from downtown) Tours: 10:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. – Duration: 1 hour. Registration required by no later than Friday, September 18, at 4:00 p.m. for the Saturday tour and by no later than Saturday, September 19, at 11:00 a.m. for the Sunday tour. Call 04 94 55 01 10 (Cogolin Tourist Office) Location: Château de Trémouriès, 1698 Route de la Mole Discover one of Cogolin’s oldest wineries, which produces high-quality AOP wines in accordance with the HVE protocol for sustainable agriculture, as well as balsamic vinegar and olive oil of exceptional quality. SELF-GUIDED TOUR OF THE OLD VILLAGE (downtown) All day – self-guided. Starting point: Rue Jean Jaurès Brochures available at the Tourist Office. Five great reasons to visit Cogolin: 1 - The Old Village Discovery Trail (marked with signs providing additional information); 2 - The trompe-l’œil murals; 3 - Artistic crafts; 4 – Art studios; 5 - Wineries. SELF-GUIDED EDUCATIONAL ORIENTATION COURSE “CAPTAIN GAME” AT THE PORT OF MARINES DE COGOLIN (6 km from downtown) Self-guided, ages 8 and up Location: Marines de Cogolin. Starting point: Cogolin Marines Harbor Master’s Office Put on your adventurer’s capes and get ready to solve puzzles about coastal biodiversity! Follow the map, solve the puzzles, and dive into an exciting educational adventure. Through the puzzles and at each stamping station, young explorers will learn the crucial importance of protecting our seas and coastlines! Pick up your game map at the reception desk of the Cogolin Marines Tourist Information Center (Avenue de la Plage) or at the Tourist Office (45 Av. G. From hand-knotted rugs to weaving on 19th-century hand-operated Jacquard looms, the Cogolin rug is recognizable by the unmatched elegance of its high-relief floral and geometric patterns and by its palette of vibrant colors. Registration required by Friday, September 18, at 4:00 PM at 04 94 55 01 10 (Cogolin Tourist Office) • Welcome at the estate and an introduction to the family and its history spanning six generations • the history of Domaine de la Giscle and its heritage, including a stop at the old threshing floor to discuss the history of the mill that inspired the name of the “Moulin de l’Isle” wine line, which is dear to their family; • a walk through the vineyards to explore their terroir and learn about their work as winemakers • a tour of their cellar and facilities; • a guided wine tasting. TOUR OF THE REED FACTORY (1.3 km from downtown) Start time: 9:30 a.m. – Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes. Reed reeds made from Cogolin reeds, 95% of which are exported and used by musicians around the world GUIDED TOUR OF THE FONT MOURIER WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT (2.3 km from downtown) 10:00 a.m. – Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes (Limited to 20 people). Closed-toe shoes and appropriate clothing required; open to ages 6 and up; registration required MEDIA LIBRARY 44, rue Marceau (downtown) JULES VERNE EXHIBITION - 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Let yourself be guided through the displays, books, and documents that bring to life the world of *Extraordinary Journeys*. PHILOSOPHY-POETRY WORKSHOPS with Samia ARABI—10 a.m. & 3 p.m. “Heritage in danger—come sow a seed to try to save it.” Registration required (max. 10 children); duration: 1 hour 30 minutes. THE CASTLE 46 Rue Nationale (Old Village) EXHIBITION ON THE BEAUTY OF MARINE LIFE by Margot LUCE. From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The artist will be present from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. FAMILY-FRIENDLY, SELF-GUIDED ACTIVITY. From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. “Planet Sea: What do you want to continue seeing in the sea?” A large panel featuring ocean-inspired colors depicting a reef will be prepared in advance and made available to the public, along with coloring sheets, cutting tools, and collage materials. (Activity duration: approximately 3 to 10 minutes). Each person will create an element: a fish, coral, turtle, anemone, starfish, seahorse, dolphin, octopus, etc. All elements will be attached to the panel as they are created (participants may choose where to place them). FILM SCREENING 6:00 p.m. As part of European Heritage Days, director Alain Guerrier presents his film, which brings together two philosophical tales dedicated to the love of nature and the selflessness of emotions. On one hand, the journey of self-discovery in Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s *The Little Prince*, which reminds us that one sees clearly only with the heart. On the other, the shepherd Elzéard Bouffier, created by Jean Giono in 1953, who tirelessly plants acorns in the arid soil of Provence until he sees the return of water, meadows, and people. The film features a nephew of Saint-Exupéry, who recalls his uncle from the time when he would visit his family in Agay, as well as Sylvie Giono, the writer’s daughter, and draws on photographs from the private collections of both families. Free admission SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 (ONLY) DOMAINE CHATEAU SAINT-MAUR – TOURS, TASTINGS, DELICACIES & WINE BAR (4 km from downtown) 535 Route de Collobrières The day features guided tours in small groups to ensure a high-quality experience. Mornings and late afternoons are reserved for families, with dedicated time slots for children at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. For adults, we offer an in-depth tour at 2:00 p.m. in French, as well as a session in English at 3:00 p.m. for international visitors. Tastings & Treats: Adults will have the pleasure of tasting our two signature wines, Excellence and Saint M—two rosés that capture the essence of our cru classé terroir. We haven’t forgotten the little ones: they’ll be offered a tasting of fresh grapes and pure grape juice. The bar will also be open all day, serving gourmet platters and our famous spreads to enjoy while overlooking the vineyards.
