Violeta Parra has dedicated her life to safeguarding and transmitting her country's popular musical heritage. Born in 1917 in San Carlos,
she travelled through town and country, collecting peasant songs and oral traditions which she transformed into works of profound poetic and human intensity.
Singer, composer, instrumentalist and visual artist, she accompanies herself on guitar, charango and harp, instruments inherited from the Spanish Renaissance and Baroque.

This project brings together the expressive power of her songs and the gentleness of ancient instruments. While respecting the melodic purity and harmonic simplicity of the original works, we propose a reinterpretation inspired by early music, so that an essential, living and universal voice can continue to resonate today.
