Description
Between dream, absurdity and vertigo, "Alice in Wonderland" takes us into a world as magical as it is unsettling, carried along by Unsuk Chin's inventive music.

Synopsis
A burrow, a fall, and the world turns upside down. With Alice in Wonderland, Unsuk Chin composes an opera of teeming inventiveness, where the absurd and the marvelous echo our everyday concerns.
About the show
Very faithful to Lewis Carroll's famous novel, the Korean composer has simply allowed herself to open her adaptation in an airport where Alice, a child lost in adulthood, crosses paths with her childish double in the endless corridors. Beneath the apparent fantasy lies a deeper disturbance: the passage from childhood to adulthood, where landmarks waver and language slips away.
Twenty years after its premiere, Opéra Nice Côte d'Azur invites us to discover this major work of the 21st century in a French version created for the occasion by Antoine Gindt, who also directs.
Led by the marvellous Raquel Camarinha as Alice and conducted by Léo Warynski, this production takes us on a dizzying journey.
