Description
In the beautiful, winding, hilltop streets of the village of Roquebrune, come enjoy a unique, funny, and twist-filled show about Antoine & Cleopatra, featuring musicians, singers, and actors!
"Mission Antoine & Cléopâtre" is an immersive cultural and artistic tour where Henry Purcell’s Baroque music and Shakespeare’s words will captivate you through tales of timeless love, witches, and mythological figures...
In the hilltop medieval village of Roquebrune, at an altitude of nearly 300 meters, between Monaco and Menton, come and (re)discover the most famous arias of Baroque London, composed between 1683 and 1692 by the great Henry, and which still capture the imagination of music lovers today, such as Dido’s lament “When I am laid” or the “Cold Genius” (Cold Genius) “What art thou,” even covered nearly three centuries later, in the 1980s, by Klaus Nomi.
This walking performance will introduce younger audiences to the music, spoken and sung voice, and style of Baroque opera. Older audiences will be delighted to rediscover myths and tales set to music, excerpts from *Romeo & Juliet* and *King Lear*, as well as the words of Oberon and Titania in *A Midsummer Night’s Dream*.
