*After the Rain* resonates with striking relevance in a world where social and professional pressures are ever-present.

On the rooftop terrace of a multinational corporation’s building, executives, secretaries, and a courier gather to smoke cigarettes—a practice banned by the company. We are in the midst of a climate crisis, as it hasn’t rained for two years, leading to a widespread drought in social, emotional, and sexual relationships. In this precarious and dangerous space, a wind of rebellion blows against the authoritarian institution. Each character exudes a great deal of tension and suffering, which makes them aggressive. Verbal violence is compounded by urban violence, which erupts with a crash in the soundscape surrounding the stage. The goal of this project is to convey the impact of environmental upheaval on our societies and the necessity of preserving hard-won social bonds through an original theatrical genre: the dystopian comedy.
