Description
Introductory workshop on TETRA PACK engraving.
As early as the 1930s, Marc Chagall illustrated books, including Gogol’s *Dead Souls*, which tells the tragicomic story of the impostor Chichikov set in the Russian countryside. Drawing inspiration from Chagall’s black-and-white engravings, the students in the DN MADE program designed a series of dresses in which the various scenes—portraits and landscapes—are transposed and interpreted on fabric. This workshop therefore offers an introduction to the technique of engraving, with the goal of creating a landscape inspired by the book, its characters, and Chagall’s Russian world.
