Until the mid-20th century, water reached the old village and irrigated the commune through a network of canals, basins, and fountains. Discover these remnants, symbols of prosperity, life, and fertility since time immemorial !
For a long time, the inhabitants of Mougins, a village perched on its hilltop, had to make do with a rudimentary water supply provided by two more or less large cisterns (one on Place du Peyrou and the other on Place des Mûriers), a water tower (on Rue des Lombards), and a single well located at the heart of the old village, on Place du Commandant Lamy, near the site of the current fountain.
