Since they met in 2010, Michèle Pierre and Paul Colomb have continued to perform together, and from their playful conversations, the Brady Duo gradually emerged—a blend of poetry, elegance, and a touch of mischief.
After a remarkable debut album full of subtlety (Plaines, 2020), they drew inspiration from science fiction to create *La Vie d’après*, a collection of songs that serve as a reverie on our possible futures. Each track corresponds to a fantastical scenario: contemplating the first humans, having a drink on Mars, living under a totalitarian regime, dancing in a nightclub among androids… Everything that already defined the duo’s sound—lyrical richness, virtuoso improvisation, and effortless dialogue—is enhanced by a new dimension, inspired by
acoustic techno (Cabaret contemporain), progressive rock (Godspeed You! Black Emperor), and contemplative pop (London Grammar). The two cellists are making a
shift toward contemporary music through playing techniques borrowed from synthesizers and electronic devices, complemented by elements of choreography. Pushing the instruments to their limits, they transform the stage into a laboratory, blending a certain pop melancholy with hope and celebration. In *La Vie d’après*, the focus is on the body, dance, and trance, as if moving forward together along the paths of an uncertain future.
