Dominated by Camarat lighthouse, the second in France for the height of the light above sea level (130 meters) source, it owes its name to a manor of the fourteenth century. For safety reasons, the lighthouse cant be visited anymore.
Listed on the Inventaire Supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques in 2012, it dates back to 1838. Electricity replaced oil in 1946. Since 1977, it has been automated and remotely controlled from the lighthouse on the island of Porquerolles. Its light signal, with a range of 60 kms, punctuates the beautiful summer nights with its white light of 4 flashes grouped in 15 seconds.

At the foot of the tower, in mistral weather, the light is dazzlingly clear, giving an infinite view of the sea, the Var coast and its capes; to the west, the Iles d'Or (or Iles d'Hyères): Le Levant, Port-Cros, Bagaud, Porquerolles.

For walkers, to the left of the lighthouse, take the small path that joins the coastal path just before Ile aux Oiseaux or Rocher des Portes: to the east, you'll reach Pampelonne beach in 50 minutes; to the west, l'Escalet in 3 and Cap Taillat in 3.5 hours.

- The Camarat lighthouse can only be visited by reservation.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the Tourist Office in the village.
