The Saint-Barthélemy Chapel is an Xᵉ century chapel located in Mougins.
Legend says that the Saint-Barthélemy Chapel, dating back to the 10th century, was built to ease the fears of the population on the eve of the year 1000. It provided divine protection against the predicted apocalypse of the new millennium.
Nestled among pines and cypresses, the chapel intrigues with its octagonal shape, a particularly rare feature for a religious building. It boasts a semicircular apse, a porch sheltering the entrance, and a small bell tower crowning its chevet.
