Saint-Pierre chapel was already standing in 1043, when it belonged to the abbey of Saint-Victor. It was handed to Montmajour abbey by Bishop Bertrand I, then returned to the monks of Lérins by Count Béranger IV in 1094. It was given back to Montmajour for good in 1479, by Pope Sixtus IV.
