When the Haut-Pays Chestnut Festival comes to Cagnes-sur-Mer
Enjoy free chestnut tastings and a host of activities throughout the day!
Local produce market, traditional crafts, musical groups, educational farms, donkey and pony rides, as well as spectacular chainsaw carving demonstrations and incredible Haut-Pays fairground rides for children!

Book your table at one of our partner restaurants to enjoy the traditional daube polenta.

This year's event will take place in the town centre: Place de Gaulle and Cours du 11 Novembre.
Opening: 10 a.m. – parade: 11 a.m. – speeches: 12 noon.

Free chestnut tasting
1 tonne of chestnuts will be roasted in public at Place de Gaulle for free tasting from 12 noon.

Local produce and craft market
Sale of chestnuts, honey, olive oil, charcuterie, cheeses, jams, gingerbread, autumn fruits, local crafts, etc. The market extends around Place de Gaulle and as far as Cours du 11 Novembre!

To the delight of visitors, especially families, numerous free activities will be offered throughout the day.

Animal parade
Departing at 11 a.m. from the Tourist Office, the parade will make its way to Place de Gaulle accompanied by music and animals from the Haut-Pays region.

Chainsaw sculpture
An original and fascinating skill!
Throughout the afternoon, Patrice LESAGE will be sharing his talent as a chainsaw sculptor!
So, can you imagine what subjects will come to life in these logs?

La Belle Roue
Eco-friendly, fair trade wooden ride, fun and intergenerational.

La Cabane de Jardin, a ‘parent-powered’ merry-go-round theatre that will delight children and surprise their parents!

Monstres Jeux and its puppets.
Funny characters straight out of the imagination of a modern-day Geppetto come to life before our eyes.

Educational farm
The farm animals are waiting for you! ‘Once upon a time there was a farm’ is a world to discover with workshops for children.

New: Wool felting workshop and creation of a small farm animal made of felted wool.

Free activities for children weighing up to 25kg: Donkey rides (from 2pm to 5.30pm): departure from Rue Frédéric Mistral

Sheep and donkeys, discover and pet the animals. Meet the farmers.

(10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.): departure from Rue des Palmiers, behind the Tourist Office.

A journey back in time to discover or rediscover the precious skills of our ancestors:

Blacksmiths, washerwomen and ironers, knife grinders, town criers and much more!

All day long, at Place de Gaulle, Rue Giacosa and Cours du 11 Novembre, meet the groups from the Haut-Pays: ‘Lo Cepon’ and ‘Escapado’.

Partner restaurants in the town centre will prepare the traditional daube and polenta and offer it as the dish of the day at a single price of €18.
