Chestnut Festival

On the agenda: plenty of roasted chestnuts to sample for free, a large farmers’ market, passionate artisans, live performances, farm animals, pony rides, eco-friendly rides, and plenty of surprises! And for those with a sweet tooth, our partner restaurants invite you to enjoy the must-try stew served with polenta! A beautiful fall day to enjoy with family or friends! Highlights! 10 a.m.: Opening of the festival, market, and activities. 11 a.m.: Grand parade of animals from the Haut-Pays region, starting at the Maison de la Proximité. 12 p.m.: Official speeches and start of the free chestnut tasting. 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m.: Spectacular chainsaw carving demonstrations. 6 p.m.: Closing of the festivities. A ton of chestnuts to sample for free! It’s the festival’s great tradition! Watch as 1,000 kg of chestnuts are roasted on site, then enjoy a free tasting in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Place de Gaulle—Tasting begins at 12:00 PM NEW: Chestnuts in all their forms! Discover chestnuts in a whole new light through a culinary demonstration led by Ms. de Caqueray, the 2025 French champion of artisanal jam makers. A wonderful opportunity to discover the secrets of preparing and transforming this iconic fall fruit, particularly through chestnut cream. Let’s eat! For the occasion, partner restaurants in the city center are offering a traditional dish featuring local flavors. Be sure to reserve your table to make the most of this wonderful day! Smart move! If you’re coming from Villeneuve-Loubet, Saint-Laurent-du-Var, or Nice, we recommend parking at the Côte d’Azur Hippodrome parking lot: 2,000 free spaces. Walking distance to downtown: 800 m – 10 min 2 free shuttle buses at the Hippodrome from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. If you’re coming from Vence, La Gaude, or Saint-Laurent-du-Var, we recommend parking at the Stade P. Sauvaigo parking lot: 500 free spaces – Walking distance to downtown: 1.2 km – 15 min Free shuttles from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.: three shuttles running continuously between the parking lot and downtown.
