Christmas in Cannes

From Friday, November 27, 2026, to Sunday, January 3, 2027, Cannes will be decked out in lights and invites residents and visitors alike to experience a magical month of Christmas celebrations. As it does every year, the City of Cannes is offering a rich, festive, and enchanting program of events to make the city shine throughout the holiday season. A Christmas market, ice rink, carnival, shows, a light parade, holiday lights, and fireworks will set the tone for this season of togetherness and sharing. The contests for the most beautiful storefront displays and the most beautiful Christmas chalet are back. The festivities kick off on Friday, November 27, at 7 p.m. with the opening of the Christmas village. Discover a full program of events to celebrate Christmas for all tastes and all ages. Inauguration of the Christmas Village and the ice rink on Friday, November 27, starting at 7:00 p.m. I) The Christmas Village, at the Heart of the Holiday Magic — Les Allées de La Liberté – Cannes The beating heart of the holiday season’s magic, the Christmas Village will be set up from November 27 through Sunday, January 3, on the Allées de la Liberté and the Cours Félix Faure. Transformed for the occasion into a truly enchanting setting, the site features 66 chalets. It offers a wide range of products: crafts, jewelry, toys, local creations, and gourmet specialties. Visitors can stroll through a warm and inviting atmosphere filled with the scent of crêpes, mulled wine, and roasted chestnuts. Music will be playing throughout the market, and Christmas trees and light displays will be set up along the promenade and under the big top. Hours: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays The traditional Christmas Village with its chalets and illuminated decorations, entertainment, and ice rink. - Artisanal chalets 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays A warm and inviting artisanal area featuring 66 wooden chalets run by designers and artisans, where you can treat yourself, buy gifts, or sample a variety of local specialties on site. - The Ice Rink 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays A 360 m² ice rink with natural ice located in the Christmas village. Admission to the ice rink costs €5. Admission will be free and reserved for children ages 4 to 10 every morning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Accompanying adults will be charged an admission fee. Outside of school breaks, on Wednesdays, and on weekends, schoolchildren from Cannes can take lessons taught by a certified instructor in a designated area of the ice rink. - Santa’s Cabin Santa’s Workshop will be set up near the ice rink Dates: Friday, November 27, 2026, through Sunday, January 3, 2027, inclusive. A variety of fun workshops will be offered for children Wednesdays, December 2, 9, and 16; Saturdays, November 28, December 5 and 12, 2026; Sundays, November 29, December 8 and 13, 2026; and every day from Saturday, December 19, 2026, through Sunday, January 3, 2027, inclusive, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Christmas Stories: Christmas stories every day the park is open at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Santa Claus will be there to welcome the children. II) The Carnival - Esplanade Pantiero As it does every year, the carnival sets up on the Esplanade Pantiero with a variety of attractions: a ghost train, children’s carousels, a pirate ship, games of chance, duck fishing, and food stands… III) Christmas Parade Wednesday, December 23, 2026 Time: Starting at 5:30 p.m. “Theme: An Unforgettable Christmas!” Location: Starts on Rue Meynadier => Rue Venizelos, Rue Buttura, Rue Louis Ardisson, Rue Hoche (via Rue Maréchal Foch), then turns around at the intersection of Rue Venizelos and Rue Maréchal Joffre => Les Allées de la Liberté; the parade ends at the bandstand. A luminous street parade accompanied by a band Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes Dancers, stilt walkers, acrobats, jugglers, and musicians will present an interactive, joyful, and luminous show for a festive parade. The parade features 22 performers in light-up costumes: 1 Santa Claus, 1 ribbon dancer, 1 hoop dancer, 3 stilt walkers, 2 jugglers, 1 acrobat/unicyclist, 5 dancers, and 8 live musicians. IV) Place Roubaud – Cannes La Bocca From Saturday, December 19, through Thursday, December 24, 2026, inclusive. Opening ceremony on Saturday, December 19, at 3:00 p.m. (to be confirmed) Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to welcome children at the chalet from December 19 to 24, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A variety of fun workshops will be offered to children From December 19 through 24, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. “Mr. & Mrs. Santa” show at Santa’s House Christmas stories will be told from December 19 to 24, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Santa Claus will be present at the end of both performances. V) Christmas at République - Salle Gilbert Fort, 45 rue Mimont, Cannes A Letter to Santa Claus Wednesday, December 16, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Photo opportunity with the children and Santa Claus at the end of the show. On Christmas Eve, Charlotte’s precious letter mysteriously disappears. With the help of her stuffed animals—which come to life—and elves from the Dream Factory, she sets out in search of her missing wish. Number of performers: 6 performers Duration: 55 minutes Type: Musical tale, dance, songs, and aerial acrobatics VI) Christmas Nativity Scenes - At the Christmas Village Located in the Christmas Village on the Allées de la Liberté, this Provençal nativity scene features Fouque santons and terracotta santons, created by the Moulin Forville-Musée Victor Tuby association. - In the Chapel of Mercy A nativity scene featuring dressed santons donated by parishioners of the Suquet Church, along with some from the collection of the Moulin Forville-Victor Tuby Museum association. Location: Chapelle de la Miséricorde, 16–18 Rue de la Miséricorde, Cannes - In the Chapelle Saint-Cassien Exhibition of Provençal and international nativity scenes, some of which are handcrafted and personal works. Location: Chapelle Saint-Cassien, Butte de Saint-Cassien, 269 Avenue Francis Tonner - At the Church of Notre-Dame de Bon Voyage An exhibition of approximately 150 Christmas nativity scenes in the crypt of the Church of Notre-Dame de Bon Voyage. Location: Notre-Dame de Bon Voyage Church, 1 rue Notre-Dame, Cannes VII) New Year’s Eve Fireworks on Thursday, December 31, at midnight – Cannes Bay – Esplanade Favre Lebret* New Year’s Eve fireworks display. Sound system on the Croisette starting at 11:00 PM A 5-minute drone show, followed by a 15-minute fireworks display, will be staged with a theme inspired by the 80th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. *Due to construction on the Croisette, it is recommended that you watch this show from the Esplanade Favre Lebret VIII) Giant Christmas Tree A new giant, illuminated Christmas tree, 32 meters tall, will be located on the plaza in front of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. It will be adorned with hundreds of stylized palm fronds and equipped with a smart lighting system capable of creating dynamic visual displays. Diffusers will fill the interior of the tree with fragrance.
