Description

2h 40min | History, Thriller | From age 10 The first part of a historical saga event
This film is presented out of competition at the Cannes Festival 2026. June 1940. France collapses and signs the armistice. In the midst of the chaos, one man refuses to give in. Alone against all odds, this unknown general escapes to London to save what remains of a dream: freedom. Without an army, without support, without hope. But with a mad conviction: France, his France, has not laid down its arms. He makes a final gamble: to convince the world that the battle of France is neither over, nor lost. Reality is stubborn, and proves him wrong. But little by little, in England, France and Africa, shadowy resistance fighters, rebellious high-school students and determined soldiers began to rise up around him. Their faith, their audacity, their rage for freedom defied history, which seemed to have been written in advance.
