Two actresses, Sarah and Vanina, take on female duets from well-known plays in the French repertoire. They explore the role of women as portrayed by our famous authors and the art of being an actress. This performance offers an opportunity to discover or rediscover a selection of our dramatic literature and to discuss feminism. Sisters, friends, rivals, mothers, daughters, or queens: the characters they portray tell stories of freedom, domination, emancipation, and resistance. These texts, some of which are centuries old, reveal a surprising modernity by echoing questions that remain relevant today: the weight of social norms, male authority, the choice of one’s own life, self-image, and the quest for independence.
