Description

A close-knit duo featuring violinist Eva ZAVARO and pianist David BISMUTH in a magnificent chamber music program titled “The Kreutzer Sonata.”
Prior to BEETHOVEN’s Kreuzer Sonata No. 9, Op. 47, they will perform, in succession, MOZART’s Sonata in E minor, K. 304, and SCHUBERT’s Sonata in D major. “To tell a story and to move people”—these are the powers of music, according to Eva ZAVARO. Born in 1995 into a Franco-Polish family, this brilliant violinist is passionate about music. A graduate of the Paris Conservatory (CNSM) (studying under Roland Daugareil, Suzanne Gessner, and Christophe Poiget), she continued her studies with Julia Fischer at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts (Hochschule für Musik). Nominated in the “Best New Instrumental Soloist” category at the Victoires de la Musique in 2021, she had previously won the 2018 Johannes Brahms International Competition and received the 2016 Georges Enesco Prize from SACEM. In 2025, she will perform the Saint-Saëns concerto with the Kuopio Symphony Orchestra (Finland) and will then perform the Dvořák concerto with Sinfonia Varsovia at the 2026 Folle Journée de Nantes. She plays an Italian violin known as the “Cornell, McMenemy,” a combination of work by Nicolò Amati and Antonio Stradivari, which has been kindly loaned to her. Named by *Pianiste* magazine as one of the ten most gifted French pianists of his generation, David BISMUTH is acclaimed by critics for his luminous and profound playing, which combines a mastery of musical architecture with the poetry of tone. Initially trained at the Nice Conservatory (in Catherine Collard’s class), he entered the Paris National Conservatory of Music (CNSM) at the age of 14 to study with Brigitte Engerer. Passionate about French music, he now has an extensive discography. In recent seasons, he has performed with the Orchestre de Paris, the Orchestre national de France, and the Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse, and has also participated in numerous festivals: La Roque d’Anthéron, the Nohant Chopin Festival, La Chaise-Dieu, Menton, Piano à Lyon, La Folle Journée (Nantes and Warsaw), the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, the BBC Hay Festival, the Palazzetto Bru Zane in Venice and Rome (Villa Medici), and the Flagey Piano Days in Brussels.
