Exhibition by Irina Drozd: “They Were Not Gods…”

Her little monsters—at once endearing and downright unsettling—sometimes captivate us… while those displayed on magnificent silver platters can even inspire a certain revulsion. The heroines of her paintings are almost always little girls, young girls, or women, often depicted in pairs or as doubles, accompanied by animals or monsters. Through her work, the artist explores the nature of femininity, contemporary stereotypes, and new archetypes of the feminine. She also addresses, with sensitivity and imagination, the themes of childhood and play. The exhibition will also feature Christmas decorations and works of art! Irina Drozd, contemporary artist. Born in 1983 in Rjev, Russia, Irina Drozd is a contemporary artist, painter, and sculptor. A graduate of the St. Petersburg State Academy of Arts and Design, she also continued her artistic training in Berlin. Her unique artistic universe blends fantastical imagination, childhood, and reflections on human nature. Through enigmatic characters, hybrid creatures, and female figures, she explores the notions of good and evil, fears, stereotypes, and the various facets of femininity. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions across Europe and Russia, notably in Paris, Berlin, Florence, Budapest, and Moscow. Her works are included in several international public and private collections.
