Description
Studio Paon is pleased to present the work of Yulia Filippova, an artist whose practice moves between gesture, matter, color and emotion.
Born in Siberia and now based in Grimaud, Filippova’s artistic journey carries within it the contrast between two worlds: the austere landscapes of the North and the intense, saturated light of the Mediterranean.
For Filippova, abstraction is not simply an aesthetic choice. It is a way of going beyond appearances — allowing instinct, movement and the unconscious to take over. Working with self-made tools and often directly on the ground, she approaches the canvas as a space where the body itself becomes part of the creative process.
Her works move between quiet, almost monochromatic compositions and bursts of color and texture, revealing an intimate world that asks not only to be seen, but to be felt.
Organised by Studio Paon.
