Description

This summer, Maison Mirages, the new wine cellar in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, invites cycling enthusiasts and curious visitors alike to discover a selection of original items that once belonged to some of the greatest figures in French cycling.
Cycling is much more than a sport: it is a popular heritage that spans generations. Among the major exhibits is the LOOK bicycle used by Jean-François Bernard during his victorious climb of Mont Ventoux in 1987. This carbon and Kevlar frame symbolizes a true technological revolution. By choosing to change bikes at the foot of the Ventoux, Jean-François Bernard pioneered an unprecedented strategy that allowed him to win the stage and claim the yellow jersey. Visitors will also discover several jerseys that have become iconic. Marco Pantani's yellow jersey recalls the incredible offensive by the Italian climber during the 1998 Tour de France, one of the most spectacular performances in the modern history of the race. Julian Alaphilippe's jersey evokes the moving victory in Nice in 2020, when the French champion dedicated his success to his father, who had passed away a few days earlier. Not forgetting the jersey of Raymond Poulidor, whose exceptional consistency earned him the nickname "the eternal second"... and a special place in the hearts of the French. Beyond their sporting value, all these objects, from the private collection of a cycling enthusiast, tell the story of the evolution of equipment, teams, champions, and the history of the Tour de France. Through this exhibition held in Gassin, at the Carrefour de la Foux, Maison MIRAGES invites the public to discover rarely displayed items in a place where heritage, art de vivre, and passion meet. These same values led to the creation of the CLOS MIRAGES estate in 2020, in La Môle. À propos de Maison Mirages Opened in 2026 in Gassin, at the Carrefour de La Foux, in the heart of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, Maison Mirages is the new sales and tasting cellar of the Clos Mirages estate. Also featuring a wine bar and a delicatessen, Maison Mirages aims to become a venue for meetings and experiences centered around wine, vineyards, terroir, and the Provençal art de vivre. À propos de Clos Mirages Certified Organic and affiliated with the "Vignerons Indépendants" (Independent Winemakers), Clos Mirages is a jewel box of old vines on the Saint-Tropez Peninsula. Spread over 15 hectares of south-facing terraced vineyards ("restanques"), the estate has been producing a multi-award-winning gastronomic Rosé since 2021, featured on top French tables, including around twenty Michelin-starred restaurants.
