KOSS explores the traces of memory and the power of gesture through works in which materials, movement, and personal memories are transformed into an artistic language.
Immersed in the world of art from childhood thanks to her father, KOSS grew up in the vibrant wake of the École niçoise. Her regular attendance at the studios of major figures such as César, Ben, Sosno, and Folon served as a true catalyst, opening her mind to absolute artistic freedom. Drawing on this rich heritage, she quickly developed multidisciplinary expertise, exploring charcoal, mosaics, and painting in turn. Today, she devotes herself fully to the visual arts—painting and sculpture—to examine our contemporary world. This exhibition explores the imprint of memory through works that blend charcoal, ink, and charred wood. My old schoolgirl curls, once subject to judgment, are transformed here into a true graphic force. Through the maturity of my work as a visual artist, I have reclaimed this movement to extract its essence. Beyond the lines and traced forms, it is the raw material itself that takes center stage to explore the imprints of our intimate memory. In this interplay of textures and contrasts, the artistic gesture breaks free, tirelessly seeking to reveal the essence rather than merely the outer shell.
