Description
Exhibition of the work by Segolène Cassoret
After training at Saint-Luc in Belgium and subsequently at the Institut Supérieur de Design in Valenciennes, she took her first professional steps by designing collections—notably for the leather goods brand Millenium Paris—and later working as a stylist for Okaïdi. These experiences taught her to observe shapes, colors, and materials, and, above all, to imbue the objects and worlds she envisions with a distinct personality.
Beyond design and creation, Ségolène seeks something more essential: to evoke emotion.
From 2016 onwards, she developed her artistic practice, gradually building a world that reflects her own spirit. It is a colorful, sensitive, and poetic realm—sometimes humorous—where characters, places, and objects seem to have a story to tell. She loves creating those brief moments of connection that bring a smile to one's face, stir a memory, or awaken something long forgotten.
Her work also embraces a sense of childhood—a way of viewing the world with wonder and spontaneity. For her, holding onto one’s inner child means continuing to imagine, playing with colors, and never being afraid to tell slightly whimsical stories.
Humor naturally finds its place in this approach; behind a joyful image or a mischievous detail often lies an invitation to see things from a different perspective.
Her journey has taken her from design to fashion, and from product creation to painting. Yet, the common thread has always remained the same: telling stories, stirring emotions, and creating happiness.
Her artworks invite everyone to pause, look at the world differently, and—why not—rediscover, for a few fleeting moments, the child still slumbering within.
