Family Fun - Haut-de-Cagnes

Held in the heart of Haut-de-Cagnes, this unique event offers a full day of activities, discoveries, and recreation every two months at one of the town’s most iconic heritage sites. For food lovers, there’s also a small market featuring local products, as well as a bake sale. Because families are at the heart of life in Cagnes, the town aims to create special moments of sharing, discovery, and togetherness in an exceptional setting. For this second edition, the Place du Château and the narrow streets of the medieval village will be transformed into a veritable playground for exploration, where culture, heritage, nature, science, and entertainment will come together throughout the day. For Families Tours at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.: “Tell me, why do we keep all these objects?” Meet at the reception desk of the Grimaldi Castle Museum Why does a museum preserve objects that are sometimes very old? And what can they tell us? Bring the whole family for a 45-minute journey through the exhibition “80 Years: A History of the Collection” and explore the museum’s history through the objects it houses. Learn, in particular, about the story of Denis-Jean Clergue, former curator and founder of the Musée de l’Olivier, who collected jars, olive-pressing baskets, millstones, and olive wood objects to preserve the memory of olive cultivation on the French Riviera. The tour will be followed by a creative workshop centered on the olive tree. Workshop from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.: “Little Artists and the Olive Tree” In the museum galleries; no registration required; subject to availability. Throughout the day, children are invited to let their imaginations run wild and create their own artwork, inspired by the world of the olive tree and traditional crafts.
