Description
The Saint-Michel patron saint festival in La Turbie is the highlight of local life, celebrated each year in honor of Saint Michael, the town’s patron saint. The program includes: early-morning serenades, a feast, ballroom dancing, a celebration, a concert, and a carnival.
Schedule of Events:
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26
- Saint Michael’s Day morning serenades: starting at 9:00 a.m. in the village streets
- Open house at the shooting range from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Saint Michael’s Feast: starting at 6:00 p.m. in the multipurpose hall
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27
- Ballroom dancing afternoon: at 2:00 p.m. in the multipurpose hall
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29
- Saint Michael’s Day Celebration: 6:30 p.m. at Saint Michael’s Church in La Turbie
Mass celebrated in the presence of Monsignor David, Archbishop of Monaco.
Traditional La Turbie procession from Saint-Michel Church to Place Neuve, featuring flag throwers.
- Official ceremony at 8:00 p.m. on Place Neuve
Speech by Mayor Valentin Lopez, followed by a reception.
- Demonstration by Italian flag-wavers at 8:30 p.m.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2
- Concert at 8:00 p.m. at Saint-Michel Church in La Turbie
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3
- Hike around the Tête de Chien from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Boules tournament from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Clos Bouliste
- Trek’Heureuses bingo at 7:30 p.m. in the multipurpose hall with a “Night Fever” theme.
