Description
The Carmage Festival is back in Vence for its fifth edition.
After four successful editions and an ever-growing audience, the young artists of Carmage are back with a new lineup of theater and performing arts in the streets of the historic center.
Objective: To highlight the city’s heritage and present unique theatrical productions in iconic venues: Place Godeau, Place Clemenceau, Belvédère Fernand Moutet…
Each year, the Festival is organized by a team of young artists whose goal is to introduce audiences to bold contemporary works while fostering a warm, communal experience. To foster a symbiotic relationship between emerging young creators and the local community, and to bring theater out of the traditional venues.
Discover performances that are sometimes intimate, often funny, and above all, fundamentally human.
Once again this year, the artists are offering introductory and creative workshops centered on the performing arts. In collaboration with local organizations, the City, and the Festival’s artists, explore various workshops focused on the spoken word and theater. Eloquence, improvisation, and classical theater are offered to introduce you to these disciplines—and who knows, maybe even inspire you to pursue them when school starts again…
These workshops sell out every year.
Five days of performances await you, with a pre-opening night on Tuesday, August 19.
Sixteen artists are coming together to bring theater to life in every way imaginable, right here in the heart of Vence.
The good news? It’s free for everyone and open to the public all five days in Vence’s old town!
