For seven days, Nice will be transformed into an open-air stage. The city’s squares, markets, and narrow streets will offer a free, lively, and itinerant musical experience.
It all kicks off on July 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Place du Palais de Justice with a kickoff concert by the Frères Jacquard, whose rock ’n’ roll and brass band energy sets the tone for the week. Starting July 19, the Libération and Saint Roch markets come alive every morning to the rhythm of jazz and gypsy jazz duos and trios. This local lineup transforms the market aisles into impromptu stages.
Starting July 20, New Orleans-style marching bands, as well as rock, soul, and funk groups, will wander through Place Masséna, the Miroir d’Eau, Place Magenta, Place Garibaldi, and Cours Saleya in the late afternoon. Every evening, one of these groups will also set up shop at the Village de la Merenda to welcome the public when the venue opens, making Fest’Off the natural and popular extension of the Nice Jazz Fest! throughout the city.
