Description

A dance and theater performance as part of our Les Buissonnières festival and the Les Inclassables artist-in-residence program by Cie /TranS/—Laurence Marthouret.
Flodor is a woman whose age is hard to pin down. She is a teenager, a woman, a lady, an old lady... living her life alone, outside of time. Flodor leads a contemplative life where every day is the same: she sits alone at the table, in her long dress, eating potato chips. Flodor is a dreamlike, absurd, and strange character; she doesn’t socialize with anyone and has no friends or loved ones. So when she spots an audience seated across from her, in a posture similar to her own, the encounter takes place. This performance explores the strangeness of our human condition through loneliness, thereby prompting each audience member to reflect on their own subjectivity. Our relationship with food, eating disorders, overconsumption; addiction; issues of gender equality in our society; old age and caring for the elderly; madness and isolation; voyeurism, our sense of integrity in a world of images, the real and the virtual; social norms for connecting with others... A non-exhaustive list of potential interpretations and audience feedback received to date. The strangeness of this character draws each audience member into the drama through their own lens and according to their own sense of strangeness....
