Description
A steep, mineral route on the border ridge, outside the Mercantour and Alpi Marittime Parks, which takes you quickly to the Lombarde summit.
From the Col de la Lombarde parking lot (2350m - b.100), take the yellow-marked path heading north-east, then pass near the former military barracks. At the arrival point of the chairlift, take the path leading off on the Italian side.
After a few hairpin bends, you reach the ridge. The route then continues over boulders; follow the cairns as you climb the ridge to the Lombarde shoulder (2,735m, mistaken for the summit from the ridge), then continue to the summit (2,800m) marked by an original cross.
