Hiking - Hameau de Valabres

Start downstream from the village near the metal footbridge (b.11); the path first follows the right bank of the Tinée alongside the hydro-electric plant, then climbs up to a small chestnut grove (barns) and reaches the first bend in the Louch track (b.12). Follow this to the second hairpin bend (b.13) and take the Sauset path; cross the bad Mourières ravine (steep path) and continue easily (b.14) along the Valabres path; you enter the Mercantour National Park at the level of the mill before reaching the hamlet of Valabres (b.274) on a slight ascent and plunge towards the Tinée on an extraordinary paved path whose many hairpin bends play on a hostile slope (b.273). Take a shuttle bus back to Isola (8 km).
