Description
This beautiful hike, 1.5 km from the Lombarde pass, on the heights of the Santa Anna and Rio Freddo valleys in Italy, allows you to discover the superb Valletta lakes.
Cross the Col de la Lombarde by car and drive another 1.5 km to marker 351 (2,276m) on the right of the road (parking for 2 cars, otherwise park 100m further down).
Take the winding path up to marker 352. Then turn right to the Col d'Orgials (b.353 - 2,600m).
From the pass, views of the largest lake in Valletta and the Valrossa massif. Climb to the summit of Orgials (2,647m) to contemplate the magnificent panorama. Return to the Pas, then descend the path over several switchbacks, then cross the slope to the Valletta lakes (ex Orgials - 2,285m).
Go around the large lake to the north and reach a small ridge from which you can see the two lower Valletta lakes. Return to the Col d'Orgials path.
Return by the same route.
