Description

Discover the sensitivity and refinement of Purcell’s vocal artistry! Henry Purcell’s arias are among the most expressive in the English Baroque repertoire.
A duo brimming with sensitivity, featuring Sofie Garcia on vocals and Franck Marcon on the organ! Sofie Garcia is an opera singer with two degrees from the HEM in Geneva and a winner of the Marthaler Prize (2023), the Ramseyer Prize (2025), and the Tremplin Leenaards Prize (2025). Recently, she notably portrayed Manuela in *La Sorcière d’Erlanger* at Victoria Hall, was invited as an understudy in *La Bella Susona* at the Tenerife Opera, and sang the title role in Cavalli’s *Erismena* at the Cité Bleue under the direction of L. García Alarcón. In March 2026, she played Venus in Blow’s *Venus and Adonis*. In May 2026, she will compete in the finals of the Mahler Competition with pianist Paul Vacellier. Franck Marcon is a well-rounded and versatile musician who offers a historically informed approach to instruments, voice, musicology, and organology. After earning first prizes in harpsichord, early music, and chamber music at the conservatories of Nice and Paris, he obtained a Master of Concert Performance from the Haute École de Musique de Genève, followed by a master’s degree in conducting. Franck Marcon is regularly engaged as a conductor and choir director. Since 2009, he has served as an accompanist and vocal coach for Baroque music at the H.E.M. in Geneva and Neuchâtel. He also conducts the Polhymnia Vocal Ensemble, which focuses on contemporary music. Since 2021, he has served as artistic director of the La Route Royale des Orgues International Festival.
