The YOUTH ORCHESTRA OF BUCKS COUNTY, Pennsylvania (YOBC) was founded in 1991 with the mission of providing young musicians with the opportunity to achieve artistic excellence through enriching classical music experiences. The YOBC provides these students with advanced musical training to enhance and complement their school curricula.
Since its inception, the organization has grown from a single ensemble of 60 members to 10 ensembles with more than 200 members. New ensembles and chamber groups have been added to the YOBC’s program to meet the needs of the region’s talented young musicians.
The YOBC has trained more than 5,000 musicians over its 35-year history.
At the heart of the YOBC’s educational mission is our ensemble program, designed to stimulate and develop the skills of young musicians at all levels.
Other enrichment programs are offered, including master classes, guest artists, chamber music, leadership and community service opportunities, a concerto competition, and international tours.
The YOBC ensemble for this tour is composed of students aged 13 to 18.
