The Neige et Merveilles association, based in the hamlet of La Minière de Vallauria in Tende, positions itself as a center for activities and sustainable tourism at the gateway to the Mercantour National Park.
Youth Volunteer Work Camps
This has been the association’s core activity since the 1960s. Every year, it welcomes hundreds of young international volunteers to help with the restoration, development, and maintenance of the heritage sites in the old mining village (renovation of dry-stone walls, brush clearing, and development of natural areas).
Heritage and Cultural Exploration
Tour of the Vallauria Silver Mine: The association highlights local industrial history by offering guided tours of the underground heritage sites and the old mine.
Archaeological excursions:
The site serves as an ideal starting point for exploring the legendary Vallée des Merveilles and its famous rock engravings.
Environmental education and sustainable tourism
Group programs:
It organizes nature camps and mountain exploration trips for schools to raise awareness about nature conservation, wildlife, and flora.

The association focuses on environmental issues, sustainable development, and the use of renewable energy (solar).
Sports, outdoor, and recreational activities
The lodge managed by the association serves as a base for numerous mountain activities and offers on-site recreational facilities:
Hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, via ferrata, and canyoning. Free access to a volleyball court, pétanque court, ping-pong table, foosball table, and library.
Theme nights, film screenings, festive events, and a cozy bistro serving local products.
