Discover the Distillerie des Cueilleurs, a young artisanal distillery located in the heart of a family-run perfume plant farm that has been passed down through five generations.
For over a century, this family has been cultivating Centifolia roses, Grandiflorum jasmine, tuberose, and other plants emblematic of the Grasse region in Plascassier. Today, this legacy lives on through a new way of showcasing these botanical treasures: the creation of artisanal spirits inspired by the Grasse region.
Spend a morning immersing yourself in the world of perfume plants, go behind the scenes of a working family farm, and share in the passion for a unique heritage that contributes to Grasse’s worldwide reputation.
1. Welcome coffee and farm tour
The morning begins with a friendly cup of coffee, an opportunity to learn about the history of a family that has been closely tied to the cultivation of perfume flowers for several generations.
This introduction also helps you understand the origins of the Distillerie des Cueilleurs and the project to promote local raw materials through the creation of artisanal spirits.
2. Farm tour and exploration of the plantations
Accompanied by Greg, set out to explore the estate’s various crops.
As you stroll along the paths, learn to identify the main perfume plants grown in Grasse: jasmine grandiflorum, centifolia rose, tuberose, as well as several aromatic plants used in the production of artisanal spirits.
Their history, unique characteristics, growing cycles, and importance to Grasse’s botanical heritage will be revealed to you during this exclusive immersion into the daily life of a family-run farm.
3. Picking Grandiflorum Jasmine
The iconic flower of Grasse, grandiflorum jasmine is at the heart of this experience.
After a presentation on its history and the specifics of its cultivation, join in the harvest right in the fields, just as the pickers do every summer.
Discover the precise techniques for selecting the flowers at the ideal moment of bloom and understand why this crop remains one of the most demanding.
The harvest will then be weighed to determine the exact quantity of flowers needed to produce the raw materials used in perfumery. This rare experience allows you to fully appreciate the value of every flower harvested.
4. A Tour of the Distillery
The tour continues inside the Distillerie des Cueilleurs.
Discover the copper still and the various stages of production for artisanal liqueurs and gins inspired by the plants of the Grasse region.
You’ll learn about the methods used to select, macerate, and distill aromatic plants, helping you understand how authentic spirits are created that reflect the full richness of the local terroir.
5. Guided Tasting
To round out the morning, it’s time for a tasting.
Artisanal liqueurs and gins are revealed through a guided tasting, accompanied by a few carefully selected bites designed to bring out the full richness of their aromas.
A special opportunity to discuss the plants, the distillation process, and the entrepreneurial journey behind each creation.
An authentic escape in the heart of the Pays de Grasse, surrounded by flowers, local terroir, and artisanal expertise.
The activity is subject to a minimum of 4 participants.
Children and young people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and will not be permitted to take part in the tasting of alcoholic drinks.
Advice for visitors:
Since the tours take place primarily outdoors, in the heart of the farm, we recommend wearing closed-toe shoes suitable for walking. In case of extreme heat, please also bring a hat for your comfort.
