Drawing on the 16 dates selected by Gérard Geist in his book, *16 Dates That Shaped History: From the County of Nice to the Alpes-Maritimes*, the speaker will bring to life the centuries spanning from Antiquity to the Middle Ages.
Political events, the daily lives of local people, defining moments, and anecdotes come together to offer a unique perspective on the history of our region. The speaker: A native of Nice, Gérard Geist is a historian, writer, and lecturer. He has headed numerous cultural institutions and has taught at various institutions, notably at Sorbonne University Paris 3.
