Description

Free lecture presented by Gérard TESTOR, astrophysicist, organized by the Trait d'Union Association.
On February 23, 1987, a “new star” (or supernova) appeared in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a southern galaxy near the Milky Way. Its brightness exceeded that of the Sun by more than 100 million times, highlighting the enormous amount of energy released when a star dies. This supernova (Sn1987A) was the first to be visible to the naked eye since 1604. No reservation
