Comprising a core group of musicians playing on period instruments, the Ensemble Baroque de Nice has rapidly established itself as one of France's leading ensembles specializing in Baroque music since its creation in 1982.

Under the direction of Gilbert Bezzina, a forerunner of the Baroque violin revival, the Ensemble has demonstrated its determination to restore a musicality based on in-depth knowledge of 17th and 18th century performance treatises. This commitment has been accompanied by research and rediscovery of forgotten or little-known Baroque masterpieces from the instrumental and operatic repertoire, widely acclaimed by critics and audiences alike, as has its extensive discography.
