“The horror film genre continues to thrive, accompanied by the emergence of an exciting new generation of filmmakers—both men and women—from diverse backgrounds. Following notable films such as Jane Schoenbrun’s *Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma*, the latest release in French theaters comes to us from Australia. With *Leviticus*, Adrian Chiarella delivers a promising debut feature film in which horror is infused with a political subtext. The inspiration for the film came a few years ago, when the legalization of same-sex marriage in Australia led to a resurgence of homophobic rhetoric.” Le Monde
